A DAY IN THE LIFE CONTACT CENTER REPRESENTATIVE The contact center rep is responsible for performing a broad variety of member services over the phone such as checking account balances, transferring funds, calculating interest, and assisting members with bookkeeping and checking account problems. Answers member questions regarding Credit Union services provided and performs a variety of account maintenance. Cross-sells credit union services. Assists or refers members to the appropriate employees or departments with any and all questions or problems that arise. Attends to all telephone inquiries and transactions for members. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Assumes responsibility for the effective and professional performance of member service functions over the phone. Presents and explains Credit Union services and products to members and assists in meeting their financial needs. Orders checks for member accounts. Helps with CD maintenance. Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers and reporting results to the inquiring party. Resolves member bookkeeping and account problems. Receives and directs members and telephone calls. Responds to inquiries and questions, or directs them as necessary. Records and relays messages. Answers questions regarding all credit union products and services except specific questions about investment services, mortgages or collections. Performs general account research, Visa cash advances, Visa card activation, Visa travel notes and Visa card orders. Answers questions regarding eservices. Has a working knowledge of computers as it applies to credit union eservices. Takes loan payments over the phone and by mail. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members. Resolves member requests and questions promptly, courteously, and professionally. Keeps members informed of Credit Union services and policies. Maintains and projects the Credit Union's professional reputation. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relationships with area personnel and management. Assists area personnel as required. Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and significant problems. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Actively and professionally cross-sells Credit Union services. Performs related clerical and secretarial duties as needed. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS Member services functions are efficiently, effectively, and accurately performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and security procedures. Good business relations exist with members. Member problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved. Effective assistance is provided with member bookkeeping and checking account problems. Good working relationships and coordination exist with area personnel and management. Appropriate assistance is provided to area staff as needed. Supervisors are appropriately informed of area activities. Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely. The Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained and conveyed. Education/Certification High school graduate or equivalent. Required Knowledge Thorough knowledge and understanding of member services and products provided. Understanding of member bookkeeping procedures. Experience Required One to three years of Credit Union experience. Skills/Abilities Excellent communication and public relations skills. Professional attitude. Ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including 10-key and telephone. Basic math skills. This part-time Contact Center Representative position in member services offers a set scheduled shift of: Monday through Friday 1:55pm-6:00pm and every other Saturday 8:55am-3:00pm .
