This member services position earns $46,033 Yearly depending on

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN INDIRECT LENDING PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
As an Assistant Manager you will assist the manager in various
areas such as; daily management of department, discipline action of
staff, semi-annual reviews with staff, and staff trainings. You
would be responsible for receiving, reviewing, and processing
applications for indirect lending, OnSpot and Student loans. You
will also assemble and evaluate loan applications and approves
those that meet initial lending criteria and are within approved
lending limits. You will Present loan requests above lending limit
to manager for approval.You will also Assist in hiring, training
and scheduling staff. You will ensure that members and prospective
members are promptly and professionally served. You will also
provide general Credit Union information as requested.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Assumes responsibility for effectively receiving, reviewing, and
processing loan applications.
* Evaluates and verifies loan applications and credit criteria.
Computes debt ratios. Approves loans within limits of authority,
and ensures safe lending through detection of fraud or other red
flags. Requests additional information if required. * Underwrites
loans and ensures that each loan is promptly and properly prepared,
documented, processed, approved, funded, and issues adverse action
notices. * * Assists in servicing loans by processing such items as
payoff, refinances, problem loan workout arrangements, address
changes, payment extensions, collateral releases, and payment due
date changes. * Audits loan files. * Ensures that lending
operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit
Union policies and are legally compliant. Ensures that loan
requests are properly documented. * Able to be adaptable to changes
in lending underwriting and environment. * Balances General Ledger
accounts for loan proceeds and reserves/flats paid out to
dealerships. Ensures the accuracy of balances. * Ensures that
lending operations are conducted in accordance with established
Credit Union policies and are legally compliant. Ensures that loan
requests are properly documented.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining
effective and professional business relationships with members.
* Ensures that members' requests and questions are promptly and
courteously resolved. * Ensures that members and staff are properly
informed of Credit Union loan policies and services. * Ensures that
the Credit Union's quality and professional reputation is projected
and maintained. * Counsels members regarding money management and
financial matters. Assists in counseling members whose loan
requests were denied, explaining reasons and alternatives. * Offers
members and staff recommendations on how to structure loan

effective coordination and communication with area personnel and
* Counsels Underwriter Personnel as necessary to resolve any
member or dealer application problems. Provides direction to
Indirect Lending personnel. Coaches and trains as necessary. *
Completes reports and records promptly and accurately. * Attends
meetings as required. * Keeps management informed of area
activities and of any significant problems. * Assists in training
and cross training of Loan Underwriter and support personnel. *
Provides outstanding service internally and externally as defined
by the credit union service promises.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or
* Suggests ideas for improvements within the department
regarding procedures, staff management, dealer relations and
business, etc. * Stays informed regarding local and national
economic conditions and legal and regulatory changes. * Ensures
that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained, including car
sale equipment. * Assists Manager in daily tasks including
chargebacks and Scheduling.
* Lending functions are effectively performed in accordance with
established Credit Union policies and with legal and regulatory
requirements. * Good business relations exist with members and
dealers. Programs and services are properly and thoroughly
explained and members' needs accurately assessed. Member/Dealer
problems are courteously and promptly resolved. * Required reports
and documentation are accurate and timely. * Good working
relationships exist with area personnel and with management.
Indirect personnel is assisted as needed. * Credit applications and
related financial data are closely and effectively analyzed and
evaluated. * Personal delinquency and write-off numbers are in line
with Credit Union objectives.
High school graduate with required loan training and
certification. Completion of UCCU Bachelor's degree
Knowledge of Credit Union loan services, policies, and
procedures. Understanding of related legal and regulatory
standards, and required loan documentation. Knowledge of consumer
and residential lending practices. Thorough understanding of
Minimum of three years of experience as an Underwriter.
Management/leadership experience helpful. Previous lending
experience is required with a background in Indirect Lending

and financial skills. * Strong work ethic and the ability to
multi-task. Self-motivated. * Understanding of Microsoft Word and
Excel. * Attention to detail and strong organization skills. *
