Job Title: Purchasing Specialist
Location: West Jordan, UT
Duration: Direct-hire, full time -
Pay range: $55-65KYR DOE

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the activities of purchasing all materials and purchased components for all machinery and office supplies. -
Specific job duties include vendor relations regarding quality, price, delivery and support.
Has responsibility for overall control of deliveries as scheduled.
Review and purchase all production material per scheduling. Review weekly or as needed. -
Request quotes from suppliers prior to ordering, maintain quotes on the computer system. -
All items on a purchase order should have a cost and have current and accurate vendor quotes.
Analyze and update system planning factors for the parts/components to purchase (Order policy, lot sizes, EOQ, minimum to buy, lead time, etc.)
Determine and manage safety stock with person responsible for inventory. -
Responsible for expediting all material orders to insure on time delivery to service:
Internal customer: shop floor/assembly to insure the assembly is not held because of lack of parts. Assembly supervisor and/or technical services will make direct requests to for parts needed.
External customer: to insure parts are shipped to customer as promised.
Resolve price variance and invoice discrepancies.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience (Engineering or business related).
Good negotiation skills
Knowledge and use of computerized ERP/MRP II systems (INFOR -VISUAL) and PC software applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel spreadsheets, flowcharting and databases.
Reading and understanding engineering drawing and documentation to determine purchasing strategies for in-source/out-source and make/buy decisions.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Good organization and multi-tasking skills
Experience in industry with manufacturing and engineered products
Willingness to develop new ideas to streamline processes and identify cost savings
